
Qualifier takes the top spot again
Christopher “PHONETAPhs” Huynh, a professional Hearthstone player for team Hearthlytics, won it all at ESL Legndary Series – Season Two. He took home the prize of $10,000 and the all-important World Championship Points, in which he received a score of 100 points. To do so he had to fight his way through the Last Chance Open to qualify for the Season Finals and he finally took the cup from Tempo Storm owner, Reynad, 3-1.

Co-founder leaves Obsidian Entertainment
Chris Avellone has decided to leave Obsidian to take up a full-time position as teacher of the “Defense Against the Dark Arts” at Hogwarts, or so his Twitter says. The creative director and co-founder has been behind some great titles including: Alpha Protocol, Neverwinter Nights 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, and South Park: The Stick of Truth. It is unknown fully why he left the company or what he plans to do afterward, but perhaps Interplay’s “Fallout 3” might finally get finished!

Hearthstone teases new feature and announces new character skin
In a mysterious GIF image, Hearthstone has recently hinted at a new game mode coming soon. They have also announced a series of alternative hero portraits for purchase currently for the cash only price of $9.99 USD. Magni Bronzebeard, the Mountain King, is the very first character to be announced for sale coming soon to the in-game store. The characters will come with some new special effects, voice-overs, and emotes, as well as a new beautiful card back and – and it will come golden by default.
